The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) functions in humans the same way it does in dogs, cats and other species. Both mammals in general have an Endocannabinoid System. This includes, to name a few, goats, rabbits, monkeys, dolphins and elephants. There is currently a huge amount of research conducted around the world to find out how exactly ECS and cannabinoids, like CBD, work together.

Despite external causes the endocannabinoid pathway in dogs helps maintain a balanced natural balance internally. The ECS interacts with the cannabinoid receptors using its own naturally developed endocannabinoids. However, phytocannabinoids (plant cannabinoids), like cannabidiol (CBD), – the non-psychoactive compound found in Hemp, can also activate the ECS. This association between the ECS and phytocannabinoids, such as CBD, is today causing some great excitement in the medical world.

You may have heard about how people already use medicinal cannabis, as well as other cannabinoids like CBD. Even other well-educated pet owners use CBD for their dogs. CBD cat treats and CBD dog treats are in reality created exclusively for dogs.
