At lightning speed, cyber criminals have moved to take advantage of the mass movement to work at home. Several Covid-19 thematic emails on phishing were released in late January and this has turned into a blizzard with no sign of diminishing today.
The emails deliver malware either through attachments such as PDF and Word documents that contain malicious code, or through the inclusion of links that take recipients to malicious web pages that typically either attempt to capture users ' personal details. Scammers are always creative and the most common offer discounts on face masks and/or hand sanitizers reflecting the zeitgeist, Covid-19 cur.
