Kids are becoming more and more often at home on their laptops during this period of social distancing. Also setting time limits for the screen is good, and recognizing the difference between use of high and low quality media. A 2016 report found that teens were interacting with the entertainment media about nine hours a day.
This does not mean any time spent using technology for educational purposes. The same study in 2016 found that children aged 5 to 8 spend about 6 hours a day interacting with the media, and children aged 2 to 5 spend an average of 32 hours a week in front of some type of screen.
