Since the start of the corona virus pandemic, European airline carriers have secured government support worth billions. Germany's Lufthansa, the fourth largest airline in the world, has earned a lifeline of nine billion euros, the largest German corporate rescue so far triggered by COVID-19. There has not been any exception.
For starters, on June 26, the Netherlands revealed its financial assistance information for KLM with a bailout package worth 3.4 billion euros. France previously reported assistance worth seven billion euros for Air France.
