Halloween numbers do a fun dance right now. There are three million fewer Americans claiming to be celebrating Halloween this year than it was this time last year. Make no worries. I don't think Halloween goes anywhere.

There are probably a few factors contributing to the drop, including fewer children of school age and fewer families planning to go trick-or-treat. Candy is still the most popular thing to buy for Halloween, with 95 percent of celebrities picking up some for the big day.

More people make Halloween decorations this year up. This year 72 per cent of celebrities are picking up stuff for the house. Hunted attractions are another category that shows significant development. Which are NEVER in the General Stats of Halloween.

You have to always look out for them. Last year, however, haunted attractions are neck and neck with greeting cards for offer, and the number of celebrities visiting haunted houses this year has increased from 18% to 22%. That percentage almost doubles (to 40 percent) among the 18- to 24-year-olds.
