As bars and restaurants across the U.S. have closed their doors in the midst of the coronavirus epidemic to comply with social distancing guidelines, Americans are stockpiling alcoholic drinks to avoid running dry during a possible lockout.
According to Nielsen numbers, off-premise sales of beer , wine and spirits increased by 14, 28 and 26 percent respectively, compared to the same period a year earlier, in the week ending March 14th.
