Asian countries are projected to make up most of the top 5 countries in the world by size of GDP in 2024, relegating European economic powerhouses to lower ranks, according to World Bank and IMF results.
China's economic growth has been rapid since the 1990s, with India and Indonesia reaching the top 10 of the world's largest economies only more recently, and predicted to cross ranks 3 and 5 by 2024. Japan, an developed economy, is expected to cling to rank four by 2024, while Russia is expected to rank sixth.
