When cell phones are disposed of incorrectly and end up in landfills this can cause harmful effects on the environment and our health. There are harmful toxins in cell phones including lead , mercury, arsenic , cadmium, chlorine, and bromine. Such pollutants can be absorbed into the soil, food and water supplies when disposed of in landfills and have adverse effects for the ecosystem and the atmosphere over time. This creates very serious potential threats to animal health , human health and the wider environment so it is important that we do something about it.
