In the adult human body there are 206 bones, all of which function together with muscles and joints-as well as tendons , ligaments and cartilage-to form our musculoskeletal system. Bones provide protection for our bodies, protect our organs and help shape our form from head to toe. Without muscles, we will not be able to sit, stand, walk or do any of the things that we enjoy doing every day. Bone health is vital at any age, so having the basics on building strong , healthy bones to lead strong, healthy lives is never too early or too late.
