Chocolate has been considered a decadent treat for years, craved for its lusciousness but relegated to the food group "bad for you." Nevertheless, to the shock of many health experts and the delight of chocolate-lovers everywhere, work has started to expose the health benefits that are concealed in the cacao beans that make chocolate. Although these results do not necessarily elevate chocolate to the level of a "good product," they do suggest that chocolate may have a place in a healing diet when it is chosen and eaten wisely.
