All we have to do nowadays is walk down to the store to get the ingredients for a nice meal and peruse the aisles to see what we want to get. Yet in many ways the food on the shelves and in the fridges and freezers has traveled a long way to get there. When their growing season in the UK is over, fruit and vegetables are imported and more exotic items are flew in to suit our tastes, with some food being transported to meet the high demand!
