In recent months air quality standards have received a great deal of attention. Many areas recorded a marked rise in air quality in the aftermath of the COVID-19 lockdowns. When it was announced that the Himalayan mountain range was visible for the first time in decades, Northern India grabbed the world's attention. Wildfires spread through the Pacific Northwest and California on the flipside, later in the summer, blanketing whole areas with a dense shroud of smoke covering hundreds of miles.
