Tofu is a food that seems like it wouldn't be that difficult to prepare for a newbie. Just throw it in an oven, a saucepan, or some other appliance that can heat it up, and cook it, huh? It's just the right bean curd, and it's so effortlessly made when you get it at a restaurant that you think it's just that, and nothing more. You were possibly inspired by restaurants and you want to cook your own tofu. The experts do it, after all, so how hard could it be?
You try to cook it then, and you know that it's more difficult than you would expect. Too runny, too rough, and with as much flavor as an old carboard package, you'll end up with tofu. This isn't the tofu that we remember! It's frustrating to put in all the hard work, cooking tofu, only to make it turn into a lumpy mess. I've been there before.
