Females have been fighting for the right to fair pay in the workforce for decades. Although improvements have been slow, it is clear that time has been kind but not kind enough for women who have struggled to close the gap between male and female median incomes.
Back in the 1970s, the average median wage for a man was about $36,207 per year while a woman would earn $21,297 for the same work annually. This means that the average woman doing the very same work as a man in her profession gets 40 percent less pay for the exact same job.
