U.S. according to National Library of Medicine-National Health Institutes, chronic pain can carry a variety of negative feelings to individuals, including anxiety, remorse, and disrupted systems of belief. Studies have shown that some of these negative emotions can be combated by yoga and meditation.
At the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt, yoga teacher Becca Broughton and health psychologist Doug Herr, Psy.D., lead a four-week community class that incorporates support, skills training and therapeutic movement to benefit those who deal with chronic pain.
