At the moment Liverpool's fall from grace at the elite of English football is being given a great deal of attention, yet another club is changing its fortune even more dramatically. In their six final games Carlisle United took only one point and you wouldn't think that the Cumbrians were placed at the top of League Two until 2 January, even when you took account of the matches in hand.
The momentum the club had built up to this point had dramatically ebbed as a series of postponements related to Covid seems to have drained away the wind and probably ended with what was really a title push for a club stuck on the 4th level since 2014-15. They're now in the 12th position.
