Love & Debt Survey: Men Will Go Into Debt To Woo a Love Interest, but Won’t Date Someone in Debt #infographic
Money may not be able to purchase love, but it can certainly impact romantic relationships. Credello conducted a love and money poll with 600 Americans ages 18 to 44 this month, and the results show that romance and finances can be tricky. Couples are doing their best to negotiate the taboo topic of money while falling and staying in love, from taking on credit card debt to impress a love interest to hiding secret purchases and bickering about savings and spending. It's not always easy, because men and women have different perspectives on money and relationships.

The following are some key takeaways on love and money:

To impress a new love interest, 41% of respondents are willing to take on credit card debt of up to $2,500.

49 percent say they would feel better at ease dating someone if they knew their financial situation before they started dating.

1 in 4 people believe that a person's debt situation should be included in an online dating profile. 61 percent aim to save for romantic getaways and surprises this year, while 28 percent plan to use credit cards to pay for them.

35 percent have a romantic partner who has hidden debt and/or made a major purchase.
