In many U.S. states, snowfall is frequent during the winter, although certain states often have heavier accumulations. Surprisingly, several states that many people believe to be warm have more snowfall than most people realize. The graph below displays the record amount of snowfall each U.S. state has seen in a single day.
Colorado is the state that has had the most snowfall in a single day. In Georgetown, New York, 63 inches of snow fell in a single day in 1913. Florida has the least snowfall on a single day of any state. The Milton Experimental Station only received 4 inches of snow in a single day in 1954.
Which state's track record surprises you the most?
