The World's Populations Compared to India

The world's population is expanding quickly with almost a new birth every second. Although India has one of the highest rates of population growth, with just about 25% of the world's population, it wouldn't take much to tilt the balance. UN estimates that India's population will reach 1.69 billion by the year 2050. The US will only have 480 million people by that time, whereas China will have 1.39 billion. India is a sizable nation. It has more people than any other country on the globe and is the second-most populated nation on Earth. But how much larger is the rest of the globe than India? What does that entail in terms of addressing global issues like inequality and climate change?

You're probably imagining a sizable crowd of individuals. You'd be right that there are a lot of people—7.6 billion—but that number is far less than India's population of 1.3 billion. There are 5.4 billion people on the planet as a whole, and if you exclude the other nations, it leaves the remaining areas with just over 2 billion people!
